Do you have a little swim pro in your midst? Goldfish Swim School also offers a more advanced children’s swim class for children between the ages of 4 and 12 who have a good deal of experience in the water.
At this high skill tier, our advanced swimming lessons are designed for young swimmers who already demonstrate strong water confidence and are ready to take their abilities to the next level. Through focused instruction and skill refinement, children in this program build the strength, technique, and endurance needed to swim more efficiently and safely in a variety of aquatic environments.
These professional swimming lessons help experienced swimmers move beyond foundational skills and begin mastering the finer details of stroke technique, body positioning, and breathing control. By developing these advanced abilities early, swimmers gain confidence while preparing for more challenging aquatic activities, including recreational swimming, competitive swim teams, and long-term water safety.
Like our other classes, our Pro kids swimming lessons are broken down into two levels based on the extent of experience the child has. We limit these 30-minute swimming sessions to a maximum of four students per swim instructor to ensure each child gets the attention they need to become pros in the pool!
Among the offerings at Goldfish, we include a more advanced children’s swim class where students have acquired some knowledge of swim strokes and are ready to develop them further.
Before enrolling in this level, swimmers should already demonstrate strong water independence. This means they are comfortable swimming across the pool without assistance, can coordinate breathing while swimming, and are familiar with basic stroke mechanics. Our advanced swimming lessons build on these intermediate-level skills by helping children refine technique, improve stroke consistency, and increase their overall efficiency in the water.
During each intermediate swimming lesson, instructors focus on helping swimmers perfect body positioning, develop smoother arm and leg coordination, and strengthen rhythmic breathing patterns. This structured approach allows experienced swimmers to gain greater control, swim longer distances with less fatigue, and continue progressing confidently toward higher performance goals.
In our Pro-level program, young swimmers focus on performance-based skill development that improves both efficiency and endurance in the water. Key skills taught during advanced swimming lessons include:
These skills help young swimmers transition from simply swimming comfortably to swimming with precision, control, and endurance. Register now to learn more about how our swimming lessons are structured and help your children develop a life-long love of the water.
Every advanced swimmer begins with a strong intermediate foundation. At Goldfish Swim School, our program is carefully structured to guide children through each stage of development in a supportive, confidence-building environment.
Intermediate swimmers typically:
As swimmers progress into advanced swimming lessons, the focus shifts toward higher-level performance goals. Advanced swimmers work to:
This progression helps swimmers build the physical skills and confidence needed to thrive in more challenging aquatic settings.
Our Pro-level swim classes are best suited for children who are ready to take their swimming skills beyond the basics and challenge themselves in the water.
Ideal candidates for advanced swimming lessons include:
Every child progresses at their own pace, but most swimmers benefit from consistent practice over several months to refine stroke technique and build endurance. Our instructors continually evaluate progress and help swimmers move forward as their skills develop.
Children should already be comfortable swimming independently, demonstrate basic stroke knowledge, and have consistent breathing control while swimming across the pool.
These lessons emphasize technique, endurance, and coordination — three essential skills for swimmers who want to participate in team-style swim practices or competitive environments.
Both are important. Instructors focus on refining stroke technique while gradually increasing swimming distance so swimmers build efficiency and stamina simultaneously.
Our small class sizes allow instructors to provide individualized attention. If a swimmer needs additional support, instructors can adjust drills or recommend skill-building activities to help them gain confidence and continue progressing.
