COVID-19 FAQ

Goldfish Swim Schools in Massachusetts are temporarily closed.

Massachusetts citizens, including the Goldfish team and its members, are proving that we are united and #bostonstrong. In an effort as a small business to sustain our business operations and take care of our staff, we appreciate the supportive emails, calls, and social media posts in response to our difficult, but safe decision, to temporarily close. Our top priority is the safety and health of our community and staff during this time.

How long are you closed?

As you know, Goldfish Swim School in Massachusetts has made the difficult decision to close temporarily, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and help our members, team and community practice social distancing. Following the guidelines of the local and state government announced by Governor Baker on Sunday, March 15th, we have made the additional precautionary decision to pause memberships as of April 1st. You will not be charged by Goldfish Swim School until we are open and running lessons.

Because this is a fast-moving and ever-changing situation, we want to assure you that we will be diligent in monitoring updates and following official recommendations from the public health authorities. We will keep you updated once we have made a decision on when we will reopen.

Are you open for family swims?

No, our entire facility is temporarily closed. This includes all activities and events, i.e. swim lessons, family swim, birthday parties, and swim team.

Does anyone at your swim school – customers or staff - have COVID-19?

At this time, we have not been notified or made aware of any confirmed cases at our school. We believe this closure is a prudent step to ensure the safety of all. Our overarching concern is the health of our community.

Are you providing refunds/ credits?

Following the guidelines of the local and state government announced by Governor Baker on Sunday, March 15th, we have made the additional precautionary decision to pause memberships as of April 1st. You will not be charged by Goldfish Swim School until we are open and running lessons.

For lessons cancelled in March due to our COVID-19 closure, we are working on creative and innovative ways to help you re-book these lessons when we open, including adding class availability and lanes.

How do I continue to communicate with Goldfish for updates or if I need to discuss options?

Please visit the announcement section of our website to keep updated on the latest news from Goldfish Swim School. If you need to speak with us directly and have questions, please be patient with us given the increased email/call volume. We will do our best to respond to you in a timely manner.

My two sons, ages 3 and 3.5, have been attending Goldfish for the past 3 months. We have done swim lessons at other local facilities, but were not making any progress and were never happy with the make up policies when you missed a class. One of the best things about Goldfish is their great make-up class policy - you don't miss out with a sick kiddo or vacation. They add the make up and you can go anytime. After 3 months, my boys have both made incredible progress with swimming and their confidence in the water. We have a pool at home, so I am very adamant about them learning to swim and have been so happy. The teachers are kind and patient - and my 3 year old went from crying the first day to loving swim, thanks to Miss Catie. Their teachers are always present, we have yet to have a sub, so consistency is key. I love the platforms that they stand on during lessons - it enables them to really practice. Both my kids love swimming at Goldfish - both at lessons and free family swim during the week, and the facilities are so comfortable and easy to use. The showers are right in the warm pool area, so no freezing kiddos. They have a hair drying bar and multiple changing rooms and bathrooms as well. The staff is friendly and responsive as well! Oh, and they have all peanut free snacks and candy treats - an added bonus for this allergy mamma!

I have three children enrolled at Goldfish and they have learned SO much in just over a month! My three year old is jumping in our pool and swimming to the stairs himself without a float, he is also pulling his body out of the pool on is own when he is not near the stairs. My daughter who is 7 has learned to swim independently on her own and float on her back, which she could not do before we started lessons! My 9 year old joined swim lessons just because he didn't want to miss out on the fun!! I would recommend Goldfish to all my friends and family!
