Why Indoor Pools Are Cool – Even in the Summer

No beach? No problem! Indoor pools are still cool to swim in, even in the summer! Especially at Goldfish Swim School, where everyone has a GOLDEN experience! Don’t discount spending some time this summer at an indoor pool. Here are some reasons why:

Rainy day? Swim day!

What’s a parent to do in the summer when the kids are looking forward to going swimming and the rain hits? Head to an indoor swimming pool! At Goldfish Swim School, we even offer Family Swim during the week that you can enjoy, even if you’re not a member!

No icky seaweed or underwater creatures.

Have you ever gone to the beach and the kids (or you, perhaps) get a bit freaked out from touching some seaweed or a fish underwater? Well, you won’t have to worry when you swim indoors! Although at Goldfish Swim School we do have all the fun sea creatures – but they’re artfully displayed on the walls, around the décor or in a fish tank. (And you just may notice our WOW! customer service as well!)

There’s no current.

Sometimes at the beach, you have to work hard to keep pulling yourself – and the kids – back to the safe area to swim. The current can pull you farther out than you’d like, or it can pull you swiftly along the beach away from where your belongings are situated. But at a pool, you’re pretty much contained to the same area – which means the kids are, too.

You can skip the sunscreen.

Sunscreen is necessary to use outside, and it’s important to reapply it every two hours, after swimming or according to directions. But applying sunscreen takes up precious fun time when kids are anxious to start swimming! Instead, just head to an indoor pool and jump right in.

No sunburn.

You don’t have to worry about slathering the sunscreen on, and you also don’t have to worry about getting a sunburn. That means no worries about being uncomfortable in your own skin (literally), no peeling skin, and no Googling sunburn remedies. Staying safe and still having fun is something to celebrate.

Baby friendly!

When it’s HOT outside, it’s easy to worry if little ones are overheating or becoming too uncomfortable. When you take your baby swimming indoors, you won’t have to worry. Plus, schlepping all your stuff to the pool is easier when you don’t need to grab your rash guards, sunscreen and hats – and you don’t need to worry about little hands exploring all the sand.

The water’s always warm.

It always happens: You tiptoe your way out the beach, into the water slowly to get used to it, and then here come your kids splashing and dousing you with chilly water. But, when you’re in the pool at Goldfish Swim School, the water is always a balmy 90 degrees. And a cloudy, breezy day outside won’t have any effect on the indoor water temp!
